The following pages describe a hiking trip by Chris Leeflang and Reinoud Burggraaf in the Lechquellen Gebirge and the Verwall. These area's are located in Vorarlberg, Austria. We made this trip in the second week of July 2002.

We arrive at Bludenz at 12:00 pm. Rain is falling out of the sky and we are not very motivated to walk to the Frassenhütte. However, the Muttersbergbahn will take us from Bludenz to the Muttersberg at 1400 m. from which it will only be a 1 hour walk to the Frassenhütte. At least that’s what we think.

Big surprise at the Muttersbergbahn station. The ‘seilbahn’ is under construction and we’ll have to climb the 1000 meters to the Frassenhütte in the rain.

3 Hours later, we arrive in the cosy cabin.

We are not the only visitors. A group of 20 Jehovah’s arrives later. They will spend the entire weekend in the Frassenhütte. Jolly fun.

The keeper of the cabin shows us a lot of photographs from the neighbourhood around the cabin and the Jehovah’s try to save 2 more souls, unsuccessful though ...
